Begin your tour with a pick-up from your accommodation in Cusco.
Visit Cusco’s Cathedral located in Plaza de Armas. Once inside, witness the gothic-renaissance architecture and more than 300 art pieces of Cusco’s colonial art from the Escuela Cusqueña de Arte (Cusco School of Art). Although photographs will not be allowed, you are sure to be amazed by the craftsmanship of all art pieces inside the Cathedral.
Continue by foot via narrow, cobblestone streets to the Koricancha; also known as the Temple of the Sun, and now housed inside the Convent of Santo Domingo. The most important temple during the Inca Empire, this temple was built in dedication to the Sun. Although mostly destroyed during the 16th century, much of its stonework foundation can still be seen.
Continue by car to the northern part of the city for a visit to various archaeological sites. During this part of the tour, you will visit Sacsayhuaman, Q’enko, Tambomachay and Puka Pukara Inca sites.
