From Cusco, head to Tipon and archaeological site hidden between the mountains of the South Valley and representing a magnificent attempt of Inca hydraulic engineering. Be sure to be impressed by the many levels of Andean terraces, the fountains with their extensive water channels and the remains of an Inca trail.
Continue along the South Valley to the tour’s next stop at the pre-Inca site of Pikillacta. Being the only site of its kind in the Cusco region, Pikillacta, is an adobe site built by the Huari Culture around 700 to 900 AD.
Lastly, visit Andahuaylillas better know as the Sistine Chapel of the Andean world. This church is a real gem of the Peruvian art of the Colonial period dating back to the first decades of the 17th century. Unassuming on the outside, this church houses wall full of frescoes, paintings from the Cusquenian School of Art, coloured ceilings and golden altars.
Finish of your tour with your return to Cusco by car. On your return, you will have to the opportunity to try some local dishes – guinea pig & fried pork. Drop off at your accommodation in Cusco.
